Felix keeps a studio in Falmouth, but also shares printing facilities in nearby Penryn with fellow artists at John Howard Print Studios. That said, you are as likely to find Felix working out of doors as you do inside. Indeed so much so, one may say his main studio is ‘en plain air’. It is here where he finds much of his inspiration for his work, be it woodcuts, paintings, sculptures or mosaics.
Inspired by Cornwall’s natural beauty and its countryside, Felix is out sketching whenever he can to catch the atmosphere and famed Cornish light. In particular, it is the coast and cliffs, the creeks and woods, and the wildlife and plants that draw him back time and again. And I am sure you agree, it is this inspiration that makes his work so special.
