About Felix
Born in Islington, London 1966, I fell in love with Cornwall 19 years later and have continued the romance ever since. The sea is in the family bones.
I studied for two years at Ipswich School of Art, then made the move to Falmouth School of Art and bought a fifty-foot French trawler on which to live while studying Fine Art
At this time I fell in with a bunch of boatbuilders where woodwork and printmaking found a natural journey to making woodcut prints and this has developed ever since.
I’m inspired by the environment around me, in particular the Cornish landscape and the sea. The stories and occurrences it holds has fed my creative necessity for many years. That is the poetry I’m hunting.
Sailing, sea-swimming, gardening and the natural world all feed into inspiration for my woodcuts.
